Our mission is to serve Christ as His growing disciples, sharing His love through life-changing relationships in our community and around the world.

MATS FROM PLASTIC BAGS TO GIVE TO MISSION TEXARKANA

PRISON MINISTRY

Contact Pastor Ryan if you are interested and for more information.

We are constantly looking out into our community to see and serve needs. Here are some mission projects we are working on year round for Mission Texarkana, UMCOR, and Blessing Bags the youth are putting together:

The youth are collecting items for Blessing Bags. The idea is to keep a few “Blessing Bags” in your car so that when you do happen to see someone on the streets who is homeless, you can hand them a Blessing Bag. Here is a list of items they are collecting. You can drop these off at the church.

Gallon size Ziplock bags
chap stick
packages of tissues
toothbrush and toothpaste
comb
soap
Individual packets of trail mix
granola bars
Individual packets of crackers
pack of gum
band aids
mouthwash
coins (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)
hand wipes
maybe also a pair of socks

You are invited to bring donated supplies to the church so we can put these kits together and sent out.

Relief Supply Kits

Early in its existence, UMCOR engaged in shipping material resources to people in need around the world. Over the years, we have come to recognize that shipping these items may actually cause harm if the materials displace potential local purchases that would otherwise support the local economy. To this end, UMCOR determined that it would cease international shipment of material assistance as of December 31, 2017. UMCOR now distributes only the most-requested UMCOR relief supply kits, assembled in the United States, to places in the United States and its territories where these items are most needed.

To address international needs, UMCOR works with local United Methodist churches, ACT Alliance, ecumenical, and interfaith partners to respond to disasters. As part of a comprehensive disaster response strategy, UMCOR coaches these partners to purchase local materials that are appropriate to the context. This is consistent with best practices and accountability standards.

Please help us restock our relief supply kits. The new kit content lists were designed to offer our donors greater ease and flexibility in purchasing their donations. During this period of transition, UMCOR will accept any kits that had already been assembled pursuant to the old content lists. Nothing will go to waste. Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve this partnership of care.

The following are the kits produced by UCMOR:

Cleaning Kits

Hygiene Kits

School Kits
